[We are no longer accepting abstracts or papers.]
Podium Presentation: On the day of your presentation, you (or your designated presenter) must attend the Speakers’ Breakfast at 7:00 am. in the designated room posted in the program. All presentations must be loaded onto the session laptop during the Speakers’ Breakfast. We ask that you bring your presentation on a USB flash drive (memory stick). Presenters will not be allowed to use their own laptops. Presentations must be in PowerPoint (.ppt or .pptx) format only and capable of running on a laptop using MS Office 2010 for Windows. If you wish to review your presentation prior to loading it onto the session laptop, you will be able to do so in the “Speaker Ready Room.” At the breakfast, you will be able to meet your session chair(s). Please bring along 2 or 3 written sentences about yourself so that the session chair can prepare an introduction.
Since this symposium received such a large number of quality papers (471), we have had to limit the time available for each oral presentation. You will have 12 minutes to present your material, plus 2 minutes for questions and 1 minute for setup. Please do NOT try to present your entire paper. In 12 minutes, your goal should be to entice the audience to read your paper. Show them just the highlights, and avoid going into detail. A good guideline is one slide for every minute or 12 slides total. Use large readable fonts, and do not put too much information on the slides. Rehearse, rehearse, and rehearse again, to be sure you can finish your presentation in the allotted time.
Poster Presentation: All poster presentations will take place on either Monday, 26 June or Tuesday, 27 June from 3:30 to 4:30 pm on the Ballroom level of the Westin hotel.
Poster authors are invited to the Speakers’ Breakfast 7:00 am on the day of their presentation. Rooms will be posted. There will be tables for poster authors to meet each other and the technical committee of the symposium. You do not have to bring your poster to the breakfast. Posters can be setup starting on Sunday, 25 June from 2:00-5:00 pm. All posters will be on display during the hours of the symposium until takedown on Tuesday, 27 June at 4:30 pm.
All authors with posters are requested to make a brief oral presentation of their work during their poster session. A committee of two to three members will be visiting the posters and they will be expecting to hear a summary of the work for about three minutes. So it is important that you will be next to your poster during your assigned poster session. There will be two awards at the Symposium for best poster, one on Monday and one on Tuesday, which will be presented at the banquet.
Your poster must fit into an area 4 feet high by 4 feet wide (48 inches by 48 inches or 122 cm by 122 cm). Please use the Poster Template below. Electricity is not available at the poster site.
Check back for opportunity to print poster electronically in San Francisco delivered to the symposium and available at registration.
Outstanding contributions to the conference will be recognized with awards from ARMA for Best Paper and for Best Poster for each poster session. The selection criteria include originality of the technical work, innovation, potential practical value and clarity of presentation.
